I am goona talk about how silly Apple iTune can be when come to
Reinstalling iTune to new hard disk on Windows 7 so that you will still get back whatever that you had on your iPod or iPhone most importantly your contacts!
Its seem like that is no option or direct solution on iTune to have your iPhone contacts transfer to Outlook on Windows OS, where a simple Nokia software is able to do it in a few secs! Anyway seen Apple had had us now we just have to find a way (and if Apple dont improve this basic function I will certainly be getting an Android phone much better peace of mind....)
What do you need to do:
1. Back up your Outlooks contact by exporting it to .pst or you may copy your old "outlook.pst" and "archive.pst" to your new machine, overwriting the outlook.pst created by the new install of Outlook. Located at C:/users/"user name"... App...local ... microsoft... outlook
2. Backup your main iTune folder from your old hard disk (yes the whole folder with your media and apps too mine is about 25GB)
3. Backup other iTune folders from "AppData /Local /Apple Computer" and "AppData /Roaming /Apple Computer" from your older hard disk
After you had reinstalled your Windows 7, iTune, Outlook on your new HDD, you may transfer all of your backup back to their original location, PLEASE NOTE I only tried this within the same version of iTune 10.01 and Outlook 2007, so just be sure your iTune backup is of the same version you will be installing on your new HDD
Lastly just ensure that you assign back the same location for your Music/iTune folder for me my music is on Drive "I" and my iTune folder is at Drive "C"
