Review: Palm 750v Vodafone

.
Alright todya is the day which we take a look at a Palm running on Windows Mobile, 750v. It is really design for one hand usage. Here we can see the package a cube box red as vodafone.

package come with usb cable, charger, whole lot of charger's pins head, stereo wired headset, user guides, cd-rom, warranty card, self cut screen protector

Lets take a look at the set front view, with QWERTY keypad

Set view IR port and miniSD slot

Within the memeory slot is the reset button

Side view volume button and side button

headset port, cable port, power port

Top view: Ringer switch

Close up on the QWERTY keypad

Back view: camera and speaker

The stylus is nicely hidden at the back

The stylus does not have a sharp pointer like other pda stylus its has a rounded tip

Surprisingly the music quality of this Palm 750v is so much much better over other pda phone i had tried, I wonder if its the headset.

The headset seem normal but I have to say i like the design, it does not come with a volume control on this headset but its light weight really make it easier to wear around my neck. i tried other pda headset which mic really weight the headset to my left and when i walk in a rush i can feel the mic is pulling my heaset away from my ear. But this is really cool the mic is just located below my chin and i don't feel the weight of the mic.

I like the form factor, very handy able to hold it with one hand while typing

One interesting feature of this phone will be how it organize its sms. It is organized by name, thus easy for us to check back on the information we had received from one of our friend so much easier. From above you can see I have receive sms from three different people,

and within each, we are able to see received and send sms when we open the name. To me this is really helpful many time I have to refer back to my sms for info, this really help.

On the standby screen, there is a slot where we can just enter our contacts name and,

the name will appear, thus save time, and really cut many steps in makeing phone call.

There are also windows and ok key on the keypad thus its really easy to activate and close application without using stylus. And there are many options available to help in one hand usage. Some negatives side about this phone is there is no keyguard when playing music, no WiFi but its 3G, use miniSD more cost effective.

Advantage of Palm 750v over Eten, design for one hand usage, focus on business features, mobile phone features, email features, 3G, fast and easy to use features, great sound quality and stable.
Disadvanages will be no wifi, 3G but without front cam for video call, no pocket MSN, no GPS, no radio, no M-Desk, no profiles, not as good bluetooth manager as in Eten, no usb port for sync and charging.

Introduction: HTC Ultra Mobile PC

.
HTC's eagerly anticipated entry into the ultra-mobile PC (UMPC) market has made an early, unscheduled appearance on the web, adding weight to the company's own admission that it could release a UMPC-like product as early as 2007.

T-Mobile is set to launch HTC's anticipated Athena UMPC-like device, it has been claimed. Given the high quality of the pics that accompany the report, this one appears a dead certainty. T-Mobile is said to have chosen the Ameo brand to label the machine.

the Ameo contains a 624MHz Marvell XScale processor, 64-128MB of RAM, 64-128MB of Flash ROM and an 8GB hard drive. The unit sports a 5in, 640 x 480 display and a three megapixel still photography and video camera. There's also a front-mounted camera for video calls.

Ameo's not a true UMPC - it runs Windows Mobile 5.0 rather than a full version of Windows, but it does incorporate telephony, which most UMPCs don't. The 2,100mAh battery is said to yield up to 300 hours' stand-by operation and five hours' talk time.

Ameo/Athena is capable of quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 3G HSDPA cellular connectivity. It has Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi on board too. The unit has a fold-out QWERTY keyboard, but will also operate in tablet mode. The whole thing weighs in at 355g and measures 13.3 x 9.7 x 2cm, so it's more a large PDA-phone than a small UMPC. It would still make an impressive laptop substitute for many users.

The iPhone is here by Linksys / Cisco it is a Skype phone, for those who do not know about this iPhone here it is.

iPhone and a New Age of Communications

iPhone represents a new age of communications, an age that has voice applications at its core. The iPhone age is about more than just dialing the phone and waiting to see if someone on the other end answers. Devices in this new age do more than simply connect you to friends, loved ones, and colleagues. They can also deliver particular types of content tailored to meet your specific needs.

iPhone Delivers Customized Content
iPhone products come with a variety of features that will change the way you communicate with friends and family, including:

Introduce: Apple iPhone Revolutionary Mobile Phone

Alright now the iPhone its HERE!!! Nope not yet, not for now at least hope everything goes smooth and we can have our long awaited iPhone from Apple, let us take a look at the features if you not already know.

iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.

iPhone features the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse. It’s an entirely new interface based on a large multi-touch display and innovative new software that lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flip through photos and email them with a touch, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page — all by simply using iPhone’s multi-touch display.

iPhone is a widescreen iPod with touch controls that lets you enjoy all your content — including music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies — on a beautiful 3.5-inch widescreen display. It also lets you sync your content from the iTunes library on your PC or Mac. And then you can access it all with just the touch of a finger. Scroll through your songs, artists, albums, and playlists with just a flick of a finger. Album artwork is dramatically presented on the large display. And now use Cover Flow to browse your music library by album artwork for the first time on an iPod. iPhone includes an SMS application with a predictive QWERTY soft keyboard that prevents and corrects mistakes, making it easier and more efficient to use than the small plastic keyboards on many smartphones.

iPhone features a rich HTML email client and Safari — the most advanced web browser ever on a portable device — which automatically syncs bookmarks from your PC or Mac. Safari also includes built-in Google and Yahoo! search. iPhone is fully multi-tasking, so you can read a web page while downloading your email in the background over Wi-Fi or EDGE.

With its advanced Safari browser, iPhone lets you see any web page the way it was designed to be seen, then easily zoom in by simply tapping on the multi-touch display with your finger. iPhone’s full QWERTY soft keyboard lets you easily send and receive SMS messages in multiple sessions. And the keyboard is predictive, so it prevents and corrects mistakes, making it easier and more efficient to use than the small plastic keyboards on many smartphones.

Built in advanced sensors iPhone’s accelerometer detects when you rotate the device from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page or a photo in its proper landscape aspect ratio.

The proximity sensor detects when you lift iPhone to your ear and immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches until iPhone is moved away.

An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the display’s brightness to the appropriate level for the current ambient light, thereby enhancing the user experience and saving power at the same time.

Intro: The simple, Tiny Phone, Concept Mobile Phone

Lets continue with out basic phone search, I have found this very original, very innovative yet with a touch of style super basic function phone. Its is design by someone nickname BloodRabbit from product design forum. This phone can only be used to call with, no sms, mms, camera, wallpaper, themes and anyone other functions, its a pure basic phone (wow it really remind of my first mobile back is the 90s). Even so its uniqueness is already attractive enough to make you read on.

It has a very unique form factor, pretty much has the shape like a sword handle, or a mp3 player and many other likewise form factor you may relate to. It has a very interesting mono LCD screen, and the best part will be its buttons very intelligently designed, just four buttons.

It is small in size about two match stick length, and the LCD screen can be kept by sliding it into the body of the phone thats really cool. "The big silver button on top releases the spring loaded display to get called ID and to recieve you press it again while the display is out, to hang up a call you simply close the display by pushing it in (and loading the spring again). The display is a lcd of the old calculator type whitout the reflective backing"

For the buttons "when you but your fingertip (tumb) in the grove on the 123 button,
you get 1 by manipulateing it to the left, 3 to the right and 2 by pressing the button down (if this dont explain it well enough I hope the picture will fill in the gaps."

I really have to say this might be a very basic phone but its concept is truely original and innovative, all the best to this creative designer Cheers!
