Review: iPad 2 Power Support HD Anti-Glare VS Cheap Screen Protector

Just gotten myself the all so popular and highly recommended Power Support HD Anti-Glare Screen Protector. I got it at S$35.40 its a 40% off its original S$59.90!!! Honestly I will never get this if its not for the discount at its original price I can get myself a Smart Cover at S$54 with some change left too.

Alright lets check out the package, it come with a screen protector and NOTHING else not even a cleaning cloth, oh there a instruction guide......!@#$%^&*()

This review focus on Power Support HD Anti-Glare VS Cheap Screen Protector, as you might know cheap protectors create more problem than protecting your screen. And most cheap protector reduces the brightness and clarity of the screen and thats really negative. One major issues cheap protect creates on your iPad screen is the so call "rainbow effect" or make your screen looks grainy! That super bad! Most often graininess occur most obvious when iPad is displaying in white e.g. viewing a white image, photo or background.

The following is the made in china anti-glare protector I am using previously about less than S$10, its really nice its pretty much similar to power support when I compare the feel of the material and ease of installation, bubble free installation and no residue remain on my iPad 2 screen after removal. It deflect reflection really well. But have "rainbow effect" and grainy problem, not so obvious when viewing colour images but its really obvious when my iPad 2 is displaying white. I took pictures of them specially selected a white colour tea cup image, you can check them out. As for reduction of brightness its still ok pretty close to the standard as Power Support.

The following is Power Support HD Anti-Glare Screen Protector! Well unfortunately its still grainy but its grain are much finer when viewing white on my iPad 2 screen, guess white is the killer colour for anti-glare protector. When come to viewing in colour power support is close to perfection! It dont really reduce much brightness and sharpness of the screen, its great in this area. One amazing feature this protector is its anti-finger print ability, its like totally cant see my finger print when I touch it. Wow guess soon they might even be bullet proof!

In conclusion Power Support protector certainly win over cheap protector in the following areas:
1. Less graininess when screen (in majority) is displaying in white
2. Close to perfect clarity when screen (in majority) is displaying in colour
3. Close to original screen standard brightness and sharpness
4. Total anti-finger print ability

For me I will still prefer to spend S$59.90 on a smart cover or other super cool accessories than on just a screen protector, I dont mind using my previous cheap protector as its still cool really, as my customers have no problem viewing what I want them to see its ok. Only when come to white display its...!@#$%^&*(). I am happy to get this great protector at such a fantastic discounted price of S$35.40!!! Thanks to the bros at HWZ Singapore!

Review: iPad 2 Maroo KOE II Case

"Classically plaid, fun yet serious, the Maroo Koe II iPad 2 cover takes the sophistication of you and turns it on its head. Made from high quality nylon with a leather binding and back, Koe II is ready to go out on the town."

Yes my Maroo Koe II iPad 2 case had arrived!!!
Like its external design classic and stylish and quality of its material. Also its internally like its hand strip, card holder, paper slot and the way its holds the ipad 2 it will not cover up the side (surface) of the device thus no blockage in swiping the screen. Lastly it come with sleep and wake function and its more rarely seen in local market.

Come in a simple box

Check this out, I really like the vibrant design of this! Bright yet classic. There are many other design for those who prefer more executive style there are full leather edition too. I am happy with the material its quality and the sawing of the joints are neat and clean.

Other aspects that I really like about this case is its SGBumper Technology (the rubber frame thats holds the iPad 2) Its a great design as its easy to place and remove your iPad 2, act as a shock adsorber,  does not interrupted while swiping your fingers across the screen and hold your iPad 2 firmly to the case will not misalign from the case when you switch to different position, some cases I used will displaced my iPad 2 when I switch from portrait to landscape.

Nice soft micro-fibre type of material on the inner layer of the case

The back of the case provide a neat and clean design of black leather with matching red stand sleeve.

Nice rubber Maroo logo one the cover

Another favourable  features are its name card and paper slots. As often I will require my clients to sign some form now I can just place them in this paper slot!!!

Black leather added at the back of the slots it truly enhances its strength and quality of the pocket

Model name tag "KEO II" at the back of the case

Two small elastic strips at the top and bottom of the front cover, helps to keep the front cover securely  closed. The thick elastic strip function as a hand strip, more will explain later in this review.

Small elastic strips keep the front cover securely  closed.

Stand sleeve connect with front cover connected

Perfect match! Maroo KOE II with my iPad 2 on

SGBumper

Surprisingly this case is lighter as compare to case like Switcheasy Canvas, and is not as bulky as I thought at first, look its so sleek!

.

Back camera cut out, fits perfectly

Typing mode

Landscape mode

Lets check out the thick elastic strip, the following the an example on the function of the hand strip. You can lock your hand into the thick strip for a firmer grip of your device or to prevent device from falling off your hand. I never use this kind of strip before, surprisingly it feels really good on my hand!

Thus far I had discuss on the pros or features that I like about this case now lets discuss on the con or feature that can be improve upon.
As you may know this case come with sleep and wake feature which is wonderful, the disadvantage of this case is that the small elastic strip is the only way to securely close this case thus if you dont the front cover flap will have the chance of opening up or move about slightly while you are on the move. This will eventually constantly sleep and wake your iPad 2, the only solution I know of now is to at least striped up one of the two elastic strip and the problem is solved.

It will be perfect if its a single long thin strip instead of two little small strips which I have to strip it twice instead of just one time. Or even better have magnetic or Velcro type of front cover lock, I always prefer single handed function as my other hand are always occupied either on my cell phone or something else. It will be perfect if the locking of the front cover can be improved upon.

I had compared my previous case to Maroo case actually to my surprise I thought my previous case will be thinner than Maroo KEO II but look with the iPad 2 on my Maroo Case its pretty much the same the only different is that Maroo case is long or taller than my previous case. Overall Maroo KOE II is very sleek, that perfect!

Pros:

SGBumper Technology (the rubber frame thats holds the iPad 2) Its a great design as its easy to place and remove your iPad 2, act as a shock adsorber,  does not interrupted while swiping your fingers across the screen and hold your iPad 2 firmly to the case will not misalign from the case when you switch to different position, some cases I used will displaced my iPad 2 when I switch from portrait to landscape. Nice soft micro-fibre type of material on the inner layer of the case. Another favourable features are its name card and paper slots. As often I will require my clients to sign some form now I can just place them in this paper slot! sleep & wake function, and the large hand strip at the back of the case.

Cons

As you may know this case come with sleep and wake feature which is wonderful, the disadvantage of this case is that the small elastic strip is the only way to securely close this case thus if you dont, the front cover flap will have the chance of opening up or move about slightly while you are on the move. This will eventually constantly sleep and wake your iPad 2, the only solution I know of now is to at least striped up one of the two elastic strip and the problem is solved.

Improvement

It will be perfect if its a single long thin strip instead of two little small strips which I have to strip it twice instead of just one time. Or even better have magnetic or Velcro type of front cover lock, I always prefer single handed function as my other hand are always occupied either on my cell phone or something else. It will be perfect if the locking of the front cover can be improved upon.

Conclusion

Overall I am very happy with its design, sleekness, quality of material used, size and functionality of this case!
